What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have over your information.
Folka (“Folka”, “we”, “us”) operates the signal-tracking service at folka.io. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit the site, subscribe to updates, create an account, or use the Terminal, Ask Folka, and briefs.
For any privacy question, or to exercise a right described below, contact us at hello@folka.io.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, your consent (which you can withdraw), and our legitimate interests in running and improving Folka.
Ask Folka answers your questions using Claude, a large language model provided by Anthropic. When you ask a question, the text of that question and the relevant signal evidence are sent to Anthropic to generate a response. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its models.
Please do not enter passwords, financial account numbers, government IDs, or other sensitive personal information into Ask Folka.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Folka, under contracts that limit them to that purpose:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Folka, our users, or others. If Folka is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Some of these providers are located outside your country. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to run the site, and — with your consent where required — analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can control non-essential cookies through the consent choice we present and through your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then for as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@folka.io. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time using the link in each message. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Folka is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give you notice through the site or by email.
